Firstly apologies if I'm just being a dumb@ss.

I'm trying to install redhat 9 on my Tiny laptop; p3 700MHz, 128M, ATI LTPro, Panasonic DVD.

The install seems to go OK, but when I boot for the first time, it freezes at freeing kernel memory 132M freed, I've tried passing mem=128M to the kernel, and this gets me to kernel panic initrd not found.

I've checked linux-laptop to see if my hardware is compatible, but Tiny do not seem to be on there, maybe because they are a UK company.

Please can someone help me.... would another distro work?

That doesn't get very far into booting... kinda hard to debug. That's right before it enables swap and mounts the filesystem. Hmmm... Check through that little bugger's BIOS and see if it has an option for disk access or OS, sometimes the BIOS can prevent linux from even being able to mount a harddrive, its a little whacky.

Also, don't sweat the 132Mb report, RAM sticks are only in the ballpark of what they're advertised as, and you probably have a starter ramcache on board too.
