Question RedHat 9.0 on Inspiron 5100 NIC not identified

I just installed RedHat 9.0 on my Dell Inspiron 5100. The laptop has on-board Broadcom NIC card 440x.

I'm sure some people tried, the driver bcm4400-1.0.1.tar.gz from the web. I just wonder if this worked for anyone. As I saw on DELL forum, it seems this driver does not work!

Anybody has any other pointers as to what other driver works for Inspiron 5100 Broadcom NIC card?

Thanks

Like you I recently got a Dell 5100. I of course have the same Broadcom NIC you do. I used that driver and have had no problems. I don't recall having to make any adjustments, but I'll check and response back if I did.

mine works GREAT!

use the bcm4400-1.0.1.tar.gz and it runs fine, add the insmod bcm4400.o to your rc.local and poof.
