red hat 9 installation problem
 
when i install the redhat9 on my asus f3jc after choose install with graphic screen i got theese messages (screenshot) and stopped. is it a cd problem or what it is. thanks...

Welcome to LinuxQuestions.
RH 9 is to old. Try a newer distribution. If you want something similar to RH then go with Fedora. Ubuntu is a good distribution for the beginner.

thanks for your advice but i have to install rh9 for my "internet protocols" course.

RH9 predates your computer. How is RH9 going to know to deal with your hardware (it will not)? Centos5 is the free version of RHEL5(Red Hat Enterprise Linux 5). RHEL5.2 (maybe 5.3 by now) is the current release version.

You might try with a newer version of Fedora. The software for your class will probably run, and the system may be similarily configured ( e.g. system V style daemon control, network config files) so using Fedora 10 may be OK. Another option is to try to run RH9 in a virtual machine. The virtualized environment may be more generic allowing RH 9 to install (using virtualbox for example).
