red hat 9 display problem
hi. i'm running red hat 9 on a thinkpad T40. i'm having a strange display problem. x boots fine. gnome and kde look work fine. however, fvwm2 and enlightenment, running their default themes (alone, w/out gnome/kde), come up with completely garbled displays: their menus are unreadable, either because the fonts and bg are the same color (fvwm) or a weird mismatch of colors appears within the menu obscuring any text. similar color/font problems occur w/ other aspects of the display when running these wm's. the only other display problem i am having, which might be related to this, is that gdm displays its fonts slightly strangely -- letters have a halo of red and green around them. xdm looks fine.
i have a mobility radeon 7500 video card; the radeon drive appears to be working though i haven't tested it extensively. any thoughts on what the problem might be would be appreciated.
