Radeon M7 With Mandrake 9.1 PPC

Allright, I know I'm not the only one to experience this. Successfully loaded 9.1 ppc on my ibook, problem is the installer doesn't display correctly. There are like, jumping lines making it almost impossible to read or see what's on the screen. Fought my way through the installer, got it loaded. Checked around for answers to this issue, have found several:

video=radeonfb

useFBdev

and several others..... When Mandrake loads the gui, all i am seeing is an off green background, and my cursor looks like a one inch by one inch "snowy" tv screen.....and nothing else happens....it just sits there.

What I need:

1. Anyone that has been through this and successfully resolved it, a walkthrough would be greatly appreciated.

2. If these fixes could/would do the job, do I just need to crtl+alt+backspace out of x and type in exactly what I listed above?? (if i even can)

The iBook is a 14.1 900 mhz g3, 640 mb ram, 60 gig hd (half dedicated to mandrake) with the radeon m7 mobility.

As always, much appreciated for any help.

third reply to one of your posts regarding the same issue, in order to load the 2420-benh kernel image you have to download it then install it it should come in an rpm package once installed you need to add the image to your bootloader, ie:LILO or GRUB, etc... that part done you need to edit the XF86Config-4 file in there there should be a driver option for your video card, you'll need to change it to that fbdev then start x and that should be your fix....again good luck, good day.
