I have Redhat "Shrike" CDs that I want to use on my inspiron 3000..... All the guides that I can find are for older versions. I have some questions:
(1) I've heard that the Linux filesystem can get really messed up if I don't shutdown properly. The laptop battrey is veeeeeeery dodgy. Is this going to be a problem?
(2) How hard will it be to get my PCMIA Siemens Gigaset 802.11b card to work (is it even possible?)
(3) How hard is it to network Linux to WinXP comps?
(4) Will there be an other big problems? (I'm going to reformat the whole HD, not just give a partition for Linux.... It's only 4GB :\)
Thx
Edit: And rember, I'm a 98.3%

with Linux (I did get it to work with XP on my desktop, and I even installed some thingy that lets me read the NTFS partitons... I'm proud

)
