Purchase a Laptop
 

I'm looking to get a laptop to help with my job. Basicly what I would be using it for would be wireless security and testing. Problems I'm running into is trying to decide where to buy from. I wouldnt need a big processor maybe a Gig. And I wouldnt need windows installed on it. I dont wanna buy from ebay. And I dont need a $1000 laptop. Any suggestions where to go?

ya.. if your under a tight budget like 1000$ and under... your best bet would be going to small computer shops and seeing if they have any P3 800 MHZ ;aying around.. they shouldnt run over 1000$... then u can get a cheap wireless card :P

p.s. if u want to install linux on it.. the older the better lol ( for hardware support that is)

You stated you may not need these specs, but I just went to one of the major stores (think BestBuy) and purchased a new Centrino for under a thousand. It's a Toshiba and is fully compatible.
