Problems with sound and graphics card on opensuse 10.2 on toshiba satellite p100-188

I've installed opensuse 10.2 on my toshiba satellite p100-188. The first thing i've noticed was that the sound is not working and i didn't managed to make it work. The other problem is that the fan on the raphics card is never turning on(geforce go 7600). I've read that if you turn acpi off then it should work. I turned it off fron yast runlevel editor so acpi is not starting. But still no soun an no fan movement.
If i try to start linux with acpi=off option it does not start, the screen remains black an di can't do anything.
Hope there's someone who can help me.

First, on the audio side, I have been working on driver support for the audio on your system. I recently checked in a patch that others claim works quite well (I don't have a system to test with). To use my patch, you need to download alsa-driver-1.0.14rc2 from alsa-project.org, and download my patch from here. Instructions are here.

Send me an email, and I will add you to my mailing list for future driver patches.

As to the acpi issue, here is a link some of my testers reported that helped.

Until now i managed to make my cooler work. I start linux with the option acpi=oldboot.
Now i try to apply your patch for the sound.

in the instruction after aplying the conexant-latest.patch it says that you have to apply a conexant-testxx.patch. The problem i have i don't know how to get that conexant-test.patch. So if you can please send me a link. Thank you

There isn't another test patch yet. This is what I sent out to my mailing list of testers, to get them ready for the next round of testing.

Send me an email at gmail.com (if you haven't already), and I'll add you to my mailing list.
