Without more details it is hard to form a definitive answer. I think you are saying your keyboard does not function _during_ install. If this is the case, the following might help you.
When your laptop boots, you will see a prompt such as "Press F2 to enter setup," or some similar prompt. Do as the prompt says. Once in your computer's bios setup screen, find the entry called (something like) "Legacy USB support." Disable "Legacy USB Support." Exit _and_ save. Your computer will reboot.
The only limitation this will impose, is that you will not be able to boot from a usb device. Your keyboard, however, may work. This _may_ solve your problem. It may not. Write back with your results, and let us know.
