Unhappy Problems with add/remove programs on Linpus

I've just got my first linux machine, the Acer Aspire One which is running Linpus Lite.
I was following a tutorial on how to install skype, and got as far as opening 'add/remove programs' when i came across a bug that doesn't really seem to come up any where :S

When i open 'add/remove programs', it tries to retrieve software information.
According to the details:
cannot retrieve repository meta data (repomd.xml) for repository: fedora

It's got a connection but it just keeps coming up with this problem and i have no idea what to do about it.
any ideas?

How about installing a special version of Ubuntu for netbooks? Easy peasy, that's it. Just search for it on google. it'll make anything work much smoother...

Well, i did think of that, but after reading around i found that that tends to cause more trouble than it's worth.
The mic and the webcam have a tendency not to work, and some of the hot keys die.
I'm not sure i really have the strength to play around with it yet.
I found a couple of things that have helped for now:
Firstly i just turned off all the repositories that it was was looking for so that i could get to the 'add/remove programs window'
And then secondly i used the .sh files supplied by acer at
Which sorted me for Skype, VLC and firefox 3.

The problem still stands though that i can't get the repository lists for anything on the list :S
(fedora,rpm fusion-free,rpmfusion-free-updates,updates)

I'm having the same problem with my Acer Aspire One, and when I try to open the Add/Remove software list it gives me an error saying; "Cannot retrieve repository metadata (repomd.xml) for repository: rpmfusion-free-updates. Please verify its path and try again".

Any help would be appreciated

linpus, repository
