Problem with Screensaver in Jessie stable Mate on Zenith Z-Book Dock

After new Jessie Mate installation on a Zenith Z-Book Dock netbook, System/Preference/Screensaver is not responding. Thinking that
something is wrong with GUI I ran terminal command $/usr/bin/mate-screensaver but got the warning
'WARNING **: screensaver already running in this session'
When I previously ran Mate desktop with Squeeze on this same netbook,
I had no problem. How can I make it behave properly? On my other Derll Vostro 1014 laptop, it is not giving any trouble.

I have posted this problem in Debian Users' Forum, but no help
has yet come.

I solved the problem, I ran as user $mate-screensaver-preferences and found that the mate-screensaver was not activated, After activation, it is behaving well.
I thought that during installation screensaver is automatically activated.
