problem with redhat on lg x110 mini laptop

hello everyone, i just bought an lg x110 mini laptop a few days ago
i use microsoft's virtual pc and i tried to install red hat 9 fedora 7 and the last centos
and i have the same problem with all of them..it lets me install them and before it finishes it tells me its probing the video card ,than it says ok ..afterwards it says it cannot determine the screen type ,than it lets me choose one and there nothing that feets ,even when i skip it and try to configure afterwards it doesnt even let me run the startx command at the command line
i tried everything from startx to ctrl alt f7 and edit the runlevel to 5 nothing works ,,i cant even find the specs of the screen itself nowhere even inside the display properties ...i really need help..
so if anyone knows anything that works ill be really happy to know
i forget to mention that it lets me finish the instalation and than drops me right away to the command line
thanks again

Both RedHat 9 and Fedora 7 are ANCIENT, so I'm not surprised they're not working. Get the latest version of Fedora (11), or Ubuntu, and see what luck you have then. Also, you're up and working...Linux isn't Windows, so when you see the command prompt, you DO have a working system, just not a 'windowed' system. What kind of graphics hardware do you have? What resolution?

And the "Virtual PC" may be what's wrong....Microsoft isn't known for being friendly to other software, or being easy to use.
