problem with a KDE install over Arch Linux on my lappy

Long time listener first time caller

ive been playing with linux a little here and there for about a year now and about a week ago i purchased a used laptop and installed arch linux on it and chose to go with KDE, the install was actually finished but 5 days ago. Over the course of the last few days ive been installing diffrent apps and such and didnt run into any problems untill yesterday i was taking some music saved on my phone and saving it to my laptop and for some reason the laptop seemed to of frozen on me, which is a relativly new thing to me, linux has never really locked up on my before so i was confused, powered the thing off and turned it back on. at this point i come to the KDE login screen i select my login name, input my password that works and looks just fine, but after i get into my desktop everything looks good for about 15 seconds while KDE gets up in running then out of no where the screen seems to cut off for about a second and comes back in what im guessing is a much lower resolution, everything in the xorg.conf file seems proper and im not sure where else to look, any ideas?

Welcome to LQ!!

If you will use capitals and punctuation, your posts will be easier to read----the above looks like one long sentence.

Please tell us more about your hardware---specifically what video card and driver---and post the "monitor" and "screen" sections of xorg.conf

Also, look at the latest version of /var/log/Xorg.xxxx for any clues
