problem erasing grub and ubuntu.... i think

Alright, so I like to get bored and do random stuff.
One of my random things to do was to install Ubuntu on my HP Laptop with Vista.
Worked just fine, I mean, the problem with the wireless card and stuff was stressful... But I finally got it.

So anyway....
Heres the tricky part. I installed Ubuntu on my external hard drive. Seagate something?
I got mad because I wanted to use my hard drive as a backup so I wanted to erase Ubutunu. Booted into Vista and formatted the the whole external hard drive. Everything was fine till I did a restart...

It's popping up with a grub error?
gahh, help

I hope i'm making since, i'm just a teenager in love with computers.

GRUB needs to read a file on the Linux partition. That file no longer exists. You will have to replace the Windows boot code.

Ok, go here and select your type of computer (32bit or 64bit) and download the .iso and burn it to a disk, pop it into your laptop and boot up, and when the screen loads up click "Repair you computer" and then click "Startup Repair" and wait for it to fix the Vista boot loader, when it's done, just reboot and take the disk out and you should be able to boot back into Vista.

Hope that help.
