Problem booting Fedora Core 2 Test 3 on HP Compaq nc6000

I'm trying to dual boot WinXP and Linux and I just installed Fedora Core 2 Test 3 on my HP Compaq nc6000 laptop (Pentium m 1.6ghz, 512MB RAM, ATI Radeon Mobility 9600). When I try to boot, the screen goes blank like it's off. It happens right after it says "Setting the hostname" I can't here it loading anything after it happens. Any suggestions?

I am experiencing exactly the same problem with my HP Pavilion ZE4210 laptop (1.6GHz Celeron; 512MB RAM; ATI Radeon IGP 340M).

I've reinstalled Fedora (clean install each time) Core 2 Test 2 and 3, and it still fails to boot beyond "Setting the Hostname", whether or not the built in NIC (National Semiconductor Macphyter 10/100) is enabled.

I'm also open to suggestions...

Update:
I installed Core 2 Final the other day and was able to boot completely and have been running fine for the past 2-3 days.

The only thing I did differently between installing Test 3 and Final was that I did not check KDE when installing Final.

Also, I didn't try installing final with KDE checked to replicate the problem I was having with Tests 2 and 3, so I don't know if this made the difference or not, or if something else was fixed since Test 3.

Anyway, hope this helps you out.
