power management on Mdk 9.2 in a Toshiba A25-S279
Hi
I have recently installed a Mdk 9.2 Download Edition on my laptop Toshiba A25-S279. The installation went really smooth. However, I can't figure out how to enable/access any applets which really indicate my available battery time. When I try to use the "power management" menu from kde, it warns me something like "not having APM or ACPI in my laptop".
I have read suggestions about installing the new kernel 2.6, which should have acpi automatically enabled, in contrast with the usual kernel from version 9.2. Is that what I should really do? Can it be done simply with urpmi? If yes, what exactly should I do, either via command line or a graphical interface (I have never used urpmi or tweeked with the holy kernel...)
Thanks
Mauricio
