Please help me research: need a hand-held linux computer

All,

I do not really know where to begin looking for this, so I decided to ask on this forum.

I am going to be going to (South) Korea soon (I'm military and I'm going for a solid year). I am used to putting my appointments on my cell phone, but T-Mobile does not have networks there. I also do not want to get a cell phone there because a South Korean phone number isn't going to do me any good. I just need a decent hand-held device.

Here are my requirements:
1) Directly sync (rsync preferred) with my Kontact profile:
a) Email
b) Appointments (this is the #1 thing)
c) Address Book
2) Ability to display documents, such as PDF, text files, and RTF. It should be able to at least edit text files (I can live without the others if I need).
3) Ability to encrypt / decrypt with a password would be nice
4) Ability to plug into a computer and act like a generic USB memory stick (or remove SD card, since I have a reader for these cards).
5) Ability to vibrate and/or trigger an audio alarm for appointments.

The device cannot have a camera, due to my job.

So far I've been looking into various pocket PC's, but these tend to be a bit on the expensive side, and have things I cannot have. I saw the DSLinux site but it's not got graphical modes.

I just have no clue what's out there. Please let me know if you happen to know of an elegant solution for my needs. Thanks!

Update: looking around for products is not working so far. KPilot and devices that work for it are attractive but none is as simple as what I need. Also, with the possibility of 12 hour shifts, none have 12 hours of battery life.

Update

So, here's an update. I am having trouble deciding what machine will work best for me. However, I noticed that there's KPilot, so I went to their website, wrote down all the machines that are known to work with KPilot, and then went and researched all their specifications so that I can make a decision.

If anyone has any info to add, go right ahead. Thanks!
