Playing .MOD Video on Acer Aspire One

Hello

I'm somewhat new to Linux and just got a Acer Aspire One A110L that I'm going to use during some travelling. I need to be able to play .MOD video files from my Canon FS200 but so far I haven't been able to find any program that can do this. The notebook runs (as most people know I guess) Linpus Lite (based on Fedora).

Don't know if this question is better fitted in Fedora-forum or just plain newbie. :)

I hope someone will be able to help, thanks.

Try VLC:

It plays pretty much everything. :D

That sounds great. Don't know why I didn't bother to check if VLC would run on Linux, as it is my preferred video player on windows as well. However, I'm having no success installing the player. Firstly the needed file (Fedora 6) isn't on the official website, secondly the directions on the official site aren't really working. But then again, perhaps I haven't found the real file. It seems whenever I stumble upon some files for Fedora 6 they all come in 9 different versions.
Can anyone help a newbie?
