I have an old Toshiba Satellite Pro 445 lap top and run Damn Small Linux on it. It has 1.3 GB hard drive and 82mb of memory. I want to purchase a wireless PCMCIA card to use with my home network. I have purchased some nic cards that I have not been able to get to work. Can anybody recommend

1. the correct pcmcia ethernet card, or
2. the correct pcmcia wireless card

So you already have a pcmcia wireless nic?
If so post related output of the just the device from this command. ' /sbin/lspci -v '
You can search through the HCL section on the site to check out hardware and what works. Note if looking at the hardware make sure you notice the version number. Many cards have used the same model number but have different revisions. Usually the chipset for the device seems to change with many using the same model number. Also have seen some with same model and version number but have 2 or 3 different chipsets in the same series.
