PCMCIA vs. CardBus on Slack 10.0

I am running Slackware 10.0 on an old Compaq Armada 1750 laptop. The laptop has a PCMCIA slot, but I have a CardBus Ethernet Network Adapter that I want to use. I know that is possible sometimes to use CardBus in a PCMCIA slot, but will this work with Slackware?

I can tell you this:

I have a Armada 3500 running slack 10, using slack provided 2.6.7 kernel on
CD #2. During bootup it loads a cardbus module and my pcmcia 10/100
nic works fine.

My nic worked running 2.4.26, but not sure if cardbus was enabled or not.
(Immediatly upgraded to the 2.6.7)

Hope that helps.

Yeah, Thnx! I think the only way to really know for sure is to try it out, but it sounds like it should work.
