Hi all,

When i boot RH 9 on my laptop all goes well until it starts pcmcia, from then on it hangs . Took the cd and searched for pcmcia kernel and installed that. Still hangs. Can anyone tell my how to get around this problem (without removing the pcmcia thingy )?

Are you trying to install Redhat 9?
If installing use ' linux nopcmcia ' to install with.

Or is it already installed and hangs on boot?

Did you wait 5 - 10 minutes and see if it would complete booting?

Which kernel? factory or you built one?

You can boot with nopcmcia.

Edit /etc/sysconfig/pcmcia file and change yes to no and see if booting completes. You will still see it looking like it is loading pcmcia.

Install this pcmcia 3.2.5 from here http://pcmcia-cs.sourceforge.net/ftp/

We'll I got around it already. Used rescue disk then chroot /mnt/sysimage and changed the config
