PCMCIA not working with 3COM Wireless card

Hi,

I've just installed Fedora Core 3 on a Toshiba Satalite 1800-814

Linux see's the two card bus slots but when i plug in my 3Com wireless card nothing happens. I've tried this under root and a normal user. I even tried a reinstall and it doesnt work....both the Gnome and KDE hardware monitors say the slots are empty!

I tried to restart the pcmcia deamon and it throws up errors about sockets? And something to do with modules.

Any suggestions? It works fine under Windows 2000.

I havent tried to update the package list yet or the kernel.

Graeme.

no i havent but being 3com i'd have thought it would.

even if the card wasnt supported surely the pcmcia bus should see something is there and not report it as being empty?

as i said i get module errors if i try to restart the pcmcia service,
