Angry PCMCIA-CS on 2.6-test9

Hey, please help, am having major problems trying to set up pcmcia-cs on mylaptop.

When running with 2.4.22 kernel i haveno problems probing or using my card devices. But when using 2.6 - which i am very impressed with by the way - using 2.6 i try to ./Confiure a freshly downloaded pcmcia-cs and amtold that the configuration has failed because in kernels 2.5 and later you need to have pcmcia support in the kernel. But this was on!!! i am absolutely sure it is on.

The kernel is a full install fromsource
running on a compaq armada V300

if anyone can shed any light-please do

this is wierd, i have had no problems with pcmcia on the 2.6 kernels, i'm running debian sid using the 2.6.0-test9 kernel, under bus options -> pcmcia/cardbus support -> i have pcmcia/cardbus support turned on, then the cardbus yenta-compatable bridge support on and my wireless ethernet card works like a charm
