PCMCIA crashes the boot

I've been having this problem for a long time. When I have the pcmcia-utils / pcmcia-cs packages installed and I boot the computer it always freezes when detecting the PCMCIA-cards.

This happens regarding of distro used. I don't have any PCMCIA-cards but I'd still would like to find some solution to this case.

I'm using Acer Travelmate 4202WLMi and I think it uses Yenta for Pcmcia.

I think function of pcmcia-cs is incorporated into kernel?? or something else.

I had similar problem a while ago.

Have a nice Penguin!

Anyway if I have the pcmcia package installed I can't boot my system as the ( udev, I think) system tries to load the pcmcia but freezes everytime on it. Only solution so far has been to remove the pcmcia package.

I recall seeing something like this before and mentioning it was caused by memory error.
