Angry PCMCIA cards and linux

hi
just need the answer to my problem that i've been trying to fix for the past few days...

I downloaded and installed mandrake 9.2 on my laptop everything went fine. then when it came to rebooting my computer it hung at boot up after a bit of exploring i figured out it was the pcmcia that was doing it. so i switched it off (for just now) i then played around but every time i try to mount the pcmcia it stalled. i then deleted the pcmcia_cs or whatever and reinstalled it now when i click to mount it, nothing happens. how do i get it to mount properly without any crashing??? please help

It would be a bit more easy to troubleshoot if you let us know what hardware you are using.
What kind of laptop do you use, and what kind of PCMCIA device is it? Make and model, please.

The pcmcia-cs package supplies not only drivers but the userspace programs needed to use PCMCIA cards, like cardctl and cardmgr.
