PCI_IDE: not 100% native mode:

I installed Windows XP and Redhat 8.0 to my Inspiron 8600 laptop. But when I try to start Linux, it shows following message:

PCI_IDE: chipset revision 1
PCI_IDE: not 100% native mode: will probe irqs later
ide0: BM-DMA at 0xbfa0-0xbfa7, BIOS hda:DMA, hdb:pio
ide1: BM-DMA at 0xbfa8-0xbfaf , BIOS hda:DMA, hdd:pio

then it hang up. No response to even Ctrl-Alt-Del

What is wrong here?

Thank you very much.

The error message is not related to your problem (I have a running system and get that, too).

You could try to boot with some save options, like 'noacpi' or 'noapic'
