panic on installation

get lost interrupt errors while bootingfrom the mandrake disc 1 on install.

im running a p4 3.02 ghz, 1 gb ram syntax laptop
im trying to install mandake 9.1
i have nofloppy drive to boot a different kernel

i have xp pro on hda1
slackware 9.1 on hda2
hda3 is reiserfs (empty)
hda4 is vfat (32, elso empty)

im trying to put drake on hda3, but after it does a partition check, it says lost interrupt, and it keeps repeating until it says "AEEIIII - shutting down interrupt handler!" I think evryone can figure out what happens then.

i thought that maybe i might be able to put a kernel from slackware on hda3, boot up and then install mandrake onto it. is this possible? how can i do it? does anyone have other ideas?

thanks in advance
dan

first try, start your kernel with acpi=off

if that is no help, try another distro... :-)
