Packard Bell : W3910 Need Help Installing

Hey guys,
Firstly I'd like to appologise for sounding so noobish, but I guess it'll have to be done.

I'm having problems installing linux to my Packard Bell EasyNote W3910. I've tried Fedora Core 4 which locks up during the install and I've tried using live distrobutions like Kubuntu and DSL and they won't even boot into live mode. I was wondering if someone could help me or point me in the right direction for configuring the kernel or doing something so I could get linux working on my laptop.

P.s I'm not a complete noob to linux, I've been using it for a while on my desktop until it died (hardware wise). So now I need to save up to fix my PC so I'm stuck with my laptop, hence the need for linux.

Have you tried booting with the noacpi option? Also, this looks like a relatively new looking model. Have you tried FC5 or Knoppix 5.0? Are you using the latest Kubuntu? Or try the (K)ubuntu 6.10 Beta?
