optical mouse & mousepath

Hi there,

I try to get my optical mouse (USB) running on Slackware 9.0
Is there a possible way to run my mous path on my laptop and
run de extern mouse (USB)?

I tried to configure it myself but everytime my X config gets
screwed up... So i thought it would be better to ask some experts

ps. Its a A4 optical USB mouse and I see it gets recognized at startup..
