openSUSE11.1 on Sony Vaio(VGN-CS36MJ) .Quick touch buttons not working
 
Sony Vaio...Multimedia Buttons not working
I have recently installed openSUSE11.1 on sony vaio laptop.There is some problem.The multimedia soft touch buttons are not working .How can I make this buttons ("capture" button for web cam and "multimedia" buttons) to work.
It works on other OS.But i dont want to use other OS[;/]

Seems like OpenSUSE doesn't handle media keys very well. I've seen many post about this. But if the key registers in X, you might have a chance of making them work.
Use xev to check if a keycode is generated when u hit the key. If so, you might be able to setup a keyboard shortcut with it.

I checked with xev.No keycode is generated when quick touch buttons are pressed.

You are probably outta luck then, you might try a different distro. Ubuntu & Mandriva has always managed to get my hotkeys working right.
