Open Hardware Laptop

Hello,

I want to build an open hardware laptop. Novena has a good idea; but it's rediculously over priced and the main board is lame. It uses a 32bit cpu designed in 2008. Lame. It also has USB 2.0 ports. Sloowwww. Need fast 3.0/3.1. I want to be able to run another OS on an extreme 300/400Mbs usb stick.

I like the case. I think it's a good design; but again overpriced. If I have to buy something from them, this will be the only thing. Oh yeah, maybe the breakout board, for arduino experiments.

I would like a 13" form factor and an infosec compliant no-blob BIOS. I would also like to be able to load Win10/Linux (any kind).

Is there a contemporary 64bit main board that I can used in this rig, that will be infosec compliant. I don't want an Intel board that can be accessed through HW and BIOS. Quad Core 64bit will be nice.

I do NOT want a Quanta.

The fact is that open hardware designs don't have the man power thron atvthem that professional designs do, and so development time is longer. If Open hardware's laptop is out of date, don't hold your breath waiting for the update. Maybe an open hardware motherboard?
