only low resoultion video mode - ati mobility radeon hd
After downloading the newest xserver-xorg-video-radeonhd, I still cannot get X to start in anything but "low resolution" mode (i.e. vesa). The following are the "error" lines from /var/log/Xorg.0.log:
(WW) RADEONHD(0): rhdVGASaveFB: Unable to access VGA framebuffer (0xFFFFFFFF) (EE) RADEONHD(0): D1CRTDisable: Failed to Unsync CRTC 1 (EE) RADEONHD(0): rhdAllIdle: unable to stop CRTC: cannot idle MC Fatal server error: AddScreen/ScreenInit failed for driver 0 I am running with a Toshiba A355-S6944 laptop, with an ATI Mobility Radeon HD 3650 video card. I have Ubuntu 8.10 (64-bit) loaded. I am not sure what the above error means, and would appreciate any insight... |

please see this ATI Radeon forum http://www.phoronix.com/forums/searc...earchid=910859 perhaps you can find a person with a similar problem as you. |
Tried the link, but it seems to be broken - I get (from Phoronix):
Sorry - no matches. Please try some different terms. I did, however stumble upon this thread in the Ubuntu forums (thought I had looked through things before, but missed this one). Looks like they are making some progress, and I hope to try some of it this evening... http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.p...48#post6882448 |
