older notebook, 333mhz just some suggestions please

Hey, new here, i was hoping someone could suggest a decent disrto - i dont need anything fancey and i have some linux experince on a great machine. I am trying to get an ok windoow manager and some usefullness out of it (browsing, mp3, I am using a Compaq Presario 1255 W/ 333Mhz AMD K6-2 4GB HD but only 32 megs of ram. I hope to upgrade the ram (max 160) but i want to at least get something running. I've tried mandrake, damn small linux, and a few other live cds.
Any thing that could at least run on that would be acceptable, i dont care if you are an expert, but if you know of anything that may help please take a moment to enlighten me, i'm not in a hurry, and have plaenty of time to try every good suggestion.

I'm the first to say slack :) Give slackware at least a try. Slack 9.1 runs great on my Compaq Presario 1270 model laptop. (I forgot the clock speed, either 300 or 333MHz). Or, if you have a fast network connection you could try Gentoo

slack indeed, but please use the search function... there are at least ten of these threads from less then a year old.
