Hey, had a few problems with fiesty fawn on my new laptop, hp dv6575us, so decided to give gutsy gibbon a go. Even tho its still in alpha, its going really well.
However, the nvidia drivers in the repos are to old, and envy doesnt work on gutsy. So i had to install the drivers myself. That was no problem, but now every time i have to reboot i dont get an X server. i have to re install the drivers. Then i restart kdm and im fine, all my previous setting are remembered.
This can be very annoying as it adds 2 mins onto every boot time, and i have to do it manually. Surely this cant be normal, even for alpha software.
thanks, i added the nvidia to the modules list, and rebooted but it still didnt work. When i ran the nvidia.run this time, it said the drivers were still inmstalled and had to remove them first. Is there somewhere else that kubuntu mite add a list of start up modules?
