Non-linux compatible laptops..?

Hey guys!

I'm experiencing some weird errors with my laptops..
Laptops:
Shg Note9000
LG siemens LW70

Error:
on the shg, when trying to run Fedora(3), Mandrake(10)
or Gentoo.
it installs, but then hangs during boot up.
I dont even get far enough to see whats wrong.
It came with WinXP pro, I installed win2k for personal reason but that gave me a hideous blue-screen wich i couldnt fix my self.. 2months in repairs (yay) it came back with a new hdd~ (they had no idea what was wrong)

I tried running knoppix, It gets to the point
"creating folders on ramdisk" and then gives me some a huge bunch of errors.. a bunch of numbers here and there and one text.. "13xxxkb lost" (x being a number that i cant remember <_<;

this error occurs on the LG too.. (the LG isnt mine so im not allowed to install anything so I dunno about the other dists :| the mandrake,fedora,gentoo discs arent broken.. they work just fine on my pals Desktop =(

whats wrong with this? (im suspecting the bios but i cant find anything helpful there >_<) Help please

http://www.memtest86.com/

a pretty rigorous memory tester, good for finding or ruling out memory problems
