Non Bootable CD Drive can I use floppys?
 

I have an Acer Aspire 1513 LMi, unfortunatly my inbuilt DVD drive has stopped working, so at the moment I am using an external Lacie Firewire DVD burner. The problem is it isnt bootable and I want to install Suse on my laptop but at the moment can´t see how I can do that. I have an external USB floppy disk drive that is bootable, is there a way that i can make a boot disk with that then use the firewire DVD drive or something (like we used to do in the old days before CD drives were bootable).

I´m sure it isnt that complecated, could someone give me some guidence?

According to the SuSE documentation, there should be a directory on the first CD called boot, which contains boot floppy images and a README explaining their use. I should point out that I've never actually done this myself, but I think it should be possible to achieve what you need.
