Nokia Booklet sees wifi networks but will not connect

Hello all.

I found a nice little Nokia Booklet at a pawn shop for $50. I brought it home and tried Mint and Bodhi Linux on it. They both have the same problem. The WIFI light it on and it finds the networks. I choose a network and enter the password and it stays on "configuring Network Connection" for a minute then asks for the password again.

Where should I start?

Run the update-usbids.sh script and then run lsusb which tells you what your wireless card is. Go to
http://wireless.kernel.org/
and start reading the appropriate page. I presume you have wpa encryption. It would be worth turning it off temparily and trying to access then.

Also you need a wpa_supplicant.conf (in /etc or /etc/wpa_supplicant). The best kept secret in that is wpa_passphrase. You need to run without brackets

Code:
wpa_passphrase <your_essid> <Your_passphrase>
It will give you a chunk of the wpa_supplicant.conf.
