no sound with sis7012
Hi there.
I have a laptop with integrated sound card sis7012. I switched from win to linux mandrake 10.0 (community), everything works well but the sound.
When I start my computer I get the message:
can't open root/tmp/asound_state.tmp
no such file or directory
save alsactl state:... non soundcards found.
Then when KDE starts I get
Sound server
informational message:
Error while initializing the sound driver:
device /dev/dsp can't be opened (No such file or
directory)
The sound server will continue, using the null output
device.
The module requested by my soundcard is snd-intel8x0 and it seems to be installed in a proper way.
I also tried alsamixer and I got the message:
alsamixer: function snd_ctl_open failed for default:
No such device.
Now I really don't know how to make it work.
Bye
Marcello
