No Sound on Acer Aspire One

Hi

I have an Acer Aspire One with a factory installed Linpus Linux Lite v1.0.11.E operating system

Since a few weeks there's no more sound (not with mp3s, not with youtube, not with Skype etc.). Checked if the mute button was not accidently pressed. Obviously a software problem. How can this be solved?

Thanks in advance

Good luck using Linpus. Not a lot of users still using it. Most have moved on to other Distros Like Easy Peasy or Kuki Linux on their Acer Aspire ones.

For sound you may want to look at the thread below

I have the Acer Aspire One running Kubuntu Jaunty. It has 2 GB of RAM, but my desktop has only 1 GB and it runs Kubuntu Jaunty too. So if you have at least 1 GB of RAM, I really recommend that you get Unetbootin and install a more popular distro on it.

On my part, using Kubuntu Jaunty, I can tell you that all the hardware works except the integrated Web cam and microphone. I use an external microphone on the pink jack for Skype, no camera. Also, the Wifi green led does not work to indicate the Wifi card is on. But the Wifi card works, it's just the led. Everything else works, even the special Function keys (volume, screen brightness etc.)

I followed the thread that you suggested. It said to type in the terminal "find / -name "*mix*" | grep bin | less" and it worked !!!! Thanks a lot for the tip !!!!
