No Idea
Hello
I recently brought a laptop from an ebay member and it has come with linux. Now I don't doubt Linux's quality from what i've heard it's superb but i don't have the time or interest to learn i just want to get my music programme up and running again so i can go back to making tunes. I want to take Linux off and put windows on (sorry if this offends!!). When I boot my laptop (Dell Inspiron 8500) it just freezes and it says kernel panic not syncing: No init found. Try passing init= option to kernel  Any help would be much appreciated Cheers |
Just install whatever operating system you want, there is no need to boot linux.

That's the problem. Linux is already installed and i don't want it installed and I can't take it off and nor can I put windows on there cause when i turn my computer on it freezes at the screen i mentioned and when I put the windows cd in sod all happens. HELP!!!

make sure the computer is set to boot from cd in the bios...to get to the bios you usually hit F2, Del, or Esc during boot...most computers will display how to get to the bios setup during boot when the manufacturer screen displays (i.e.-Dell)
if your computer is set to boot from cd and windows still won't install the problem lies with either windows or the computer. |
And, just because it's good to mention, read my signature, go to My Public Bookmarks and read the 2 Microsoft Knowledgebase articles on how to remove Linux.
