Well, the software starts and runs ok, but I can't seem to get it to connect to the Zaurus. I have USB networking support compiled in and the machine identifies the zaurus on boot just fine, but cannot connect. Am I forgetting something?

what kernel module are you using (usbdnet or usbnet) and how do you have the networking set up?

o you should use usb networking support as a module not compiled in. something in some docs i read one time said use it as a module and not compiled in and i found that was the only way it would work for me.

Cool I will give that a try. I needed to recompile again anyhow.

Unhappy Zaurus sync problems -- grrrr

When I was running Mandrake 8.2 I **finally** got QT desktop to work following great step-by-step: http://www.ruault.com/Zaurus/etherne...owto.html#mdrk

Now, because I wanted to upgrade to Ximian Evolution 1.4, I decided to put RedHat on (Evolutioin 1.4 does not support Mandrake 8.2). So far, so good until I tried to get my Zaurus to sync with either: (1) Evolution using Multisync .80 OR (2) Qtopia desktop (1.7.0). I've looked at tons of articles including: http://humphrey.applitec.com/zaurus/ but nothing seems to work. I've spent 2 full days installing/configuring/googling with no success.

Does anyone have a surefire (no kernel patching/rebuilding) way of getting RH 9.0, kernel v=2.4.20-6 to work so that the Zaurus can sync with QT desktop and with Evolution.

Thanks!

unless redhat 9.0 stock kernel has the usbdnet or the usbnet module with zaurus support your outa luck unless you willing to compile try doing a modprobe usbdnet or usbnet and see what that gets you. if niether module will load well your would have to build your modules along the lines of the first article you referenced.

or upgrade to kernel 2.4.21 which comes with zaurus support
