sony vaio vgn-fz31z built in camera with linux ubuntu 7.10

I'm new to linux and I have a sony vaio vgn-fz31z with ubuntu 7.10. What can i do to make the built in camera and microphone to work? Thank you

I have no idea what kind of camera this laptop uses, but in general from my experience - webcam support has not been too good, at least the last time I checked.

We need to know what kind of chipset that camera of yours is using. If I was to guess, it's probably a usb-connected camera. Try therefor to give us output of the command "lsusb"
