My fan crazed!

I am running Fedora core 3 on Asus A2 laptop.

I got kernel 2.6.9. AdditionalIy I installed acpi4asus.

My fan is crazed! Every 10 secs it turns full speed on, then after another 10 secs turns off.......

Is there a tool with which I can control fan speed?

Any help appreciated

lets see a
Code:
cat /proc/acpi
and we could see an event that is linked to the fan off/on. Not sre what the config file for acpid is (read the man page). look at that and see what might be linked to the fan.
