MDK9.1 display shifted

Dear All,

With my new MDK9.1 install, I have the following problem:

Hardware - Gericom X5 1840 with 1024x768 panel (laptop, obviously)

The display is shifted about 8 pixels to the left, so I get a black margin on the right, and about 8 pixels cut off on the left. Not pretty!

I'm currently passing vga=791 to the kernel. Is there a kernel parameter I could set so as to shift the panel back by x pixels?

Cheers,

Samsara

Try manually adjusting your monitor - my RH9 install does that after updating the nvidia drivers.

There is also an app called xvidtune that can do the adjustment via software - type xvidtune in a console as root.

Should this become active only after reboot? It doesn't seem to do anything for me when I click "right" or "left" and then "apply".

Thx,

I figure I should try the ftp install of SuSE. If that doesn't work, back to RH9! Is LFS really so unavoidable?

LILO bug

My solution: Install new, non-graphical version of LILO. The Mandrake version contains the graphics bug.

Keywords: laptop, LILO, linux loader, flat panel, display, xvidtune, vga, bootloader, bootmanager, notebook, Gericom
