mandriva 2006 on hp zv6000

Hello all,
Has anyone tried to install mandriva's 2006 beta on hp zv6000?

Thanks...

It should work, though you prolly won't have 3d acceleration. The video card doesn't have linux support yet. Almost everything should work, but just in case: http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=36991

I'm pretty happy with Fedora Core 4 x86_64 on my zv6015. I can only get the Mesa 3d drivers to work but I'm still fiddling with the ATI drivers when I have the time. Also, the PCMCIA support is problematic and the only way to get the wireless LAN to work appears to be ndiswrapper.

Yes I have everything working except the media drivers using the Beta 2 of Mandriva 2006 the install of the ati rpm was a pain I had to use --force and --nodeps and I had to use ndiswrapper for the wireless card. One word for it SWEEEEEEEET

Hey I installed Mandriva 2006 64 BIT on my zv6000. I can't get the wireless drivers working. I am using ndiswrapper but when I go to install with the GUI it says that the driver can not be installed. I am trying to get the netbc564 driver working.

If i remember correctly ndiswrapper driver install also requires firmware installed to correct location and using latest xp driver before everything works. What module does netbc564 need? Is madwifi available for Mandriva?

Sorry but I am new to Linux and don't understand most of it. How can I tell which module is needed? I have no idea if madwifi is supported or not.

I have a zv6000, and my wifi uses the broadcom chipset. I didn't think you could use madwifi, only ndiswrapper with the bcmwl5a drivers (for 32 bit).
