No matter what you do? What have you done, then? Tried the snd-cs4232 Alsa driver? Tried the cs4232 OSS driver?

So what's the error when you try to modprobe the Alsa driver (snd-cs4232), and the OSS (cs4232) driver? We need more information, we can't just guess. As far as I know it may be working but your volume is at zero, or whatever.

Try /sbin/modprobe as root.

Use harddrake 2 for sound issues, there is also redhat sound tool of some sort on the install disks that you could try if it fails. if this doesn't work, then you use modprobe (my opinion, not the law)
