Mandrake 9.X and Acer Aspire 1603-LM

Hi,
i'm a new owner of an Acer Aspire 1603-LM and i got pbs while installing Mandrake 9.0 or 9.1, the installation freezes at the begining when (probably) checking irqs : it tells me "ide1 at .....,...on irq 15" and then nothing.Is this notebook not compatible with Linux ? if anyone has a solution plz let me know quickly as i really need Linux on it and i have one week to get back this pc to the supermarket.

try installing with "linux noauto"

aside form that? Check tuxmobile.com and see if anyone's put linux on that model...

i tried linux noauto or expert noauto and same shit! with mandrake 9.2 RC2 it freezes at ide driver for hda, i really don't know what to do as some1 tested mandrake 9.1 on an acer aspire 1601 LC there is some minor changes between my model and this one (hd bigger, dvd-rw, 512ddr). perhaps there is some options that i'm not aware of, that could make it work. right now i'm bownloading redhat 9.0 i hope it'll be better.

ok i solve my problems i switched to redhat 9.0 and it works fine!
i got sound, my mouse is working everything is perfect.
