Mandrake 9.2 and Dell Inspiron 3000

I can't install the mandrake distribution on my laptop Dell Inspiron 3000 (Pentium 200 Mmx with 144 Mo). It seems start the installation and it stop when it trying the CDROM. But it was launched the application by it.

I don't understand, and in the past, i have installed the Mandrake 8.2 on this machine.

Is it normal because the kernel is different, or ???
Thanks for your support
Best regards.

The first thing I would do is make sure my cdrom drive was working correctly. Use a cleaner.

You need a good drive to install. Or it could be a bad disk.

I just installed MDK 9.2 on an IBM 770z. Looks good, it will take work to get the sound and wireless connection working.

It seems like it is a dma issue. Try to pass the following argument at boot time.

linux ide=nodma

Good luck,
