Mandrake 9.1 ppc On an iBook

Ok, downloaded and burned the madnrake ppc iso's, reformatted the hd and loaded os x on half, partitioned the other half trying both a unix filesystem and a mac os standard filesystem using the mac disk utility. I can reboot the iBook, hold down c and manage to get the mandrake install started. Everything seems fine until i get to the gui installer. The screen is shifted almost halfway to the left, the pointer jumps and i cant make out much of the text because of overlapping and a (snowy?) jacked up display.

Tried going all text install, getting an error saying i have no boot partition and i need to use diskdrake to create one.

Ok, i thought i knew what i was doing, now i feel totally lost. for once i rtfm and i still cant get beyond this.

HELP!!!

the ibook is a 14.1, 900 mhz g3, 60 gig hd, and all i know of the video card is its an ati radeon mobility m7

Anyone ever run into this?? Am i oblivious to something obvious here??

As always, thanks in advance.

I did a little data mining and found this: Try passing the following option to the kernel on boot up. I don't kave an Ibook, of any kind, so I can't try it, but try passing this option to the kernel.

install-video video=aty128fb:vmode:14

you can try playing with the options a little more and see if it works for you good luck!
