Mandrake 9.1 on nx9005 laptop

Hello I have just installed Mandrake 9.1 on my compaq nx9005
and everything is working fine except for the pcmcia slots and the battery monitor.

The PCMCIA script hangs the computer solid and the only thing to do is to shutdown the computer. I had to use Knoppix so I could delete the script from init 3 so I could start the computer.

Then I tried to run the script when I had boot up the computer
but the same thing happened.

Then I read in the PCMCIA howto but I didn't understand how to config the file config.OPTS or what the file was called. I think I have change something that has to do with the memory or IRQ.

Are there someone how can help me with this problem??

I saw that other people had the same problem with nx9005 but I didn't see any solution on the problem.

Please help a new linux user!

This is a really really similar model and some of the tricks he used to shoehorn on redhat 9.0, we're dealing with the same kernel here, so in this regard, everything is the same:

http://freax.be/wiki/index.php/Insta...x9010%20laptop

The problem he dealt with looked to be hotplugging trying to activate firewire... which doesn't make sense that it would work with pcmcia turned off. What have you got regarding:

dmesg

Cheers,
